Dr William Cho is a Biomedical Scientist in Queen Elizabeth Hospital. His main research interests have been focusing on cancer studies utilizing high-throughput technologies to discover biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, treatment prediction and prognostication. He is a Chartered Scientist granted by the Science Council (UK), a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner (HK), Guest Professor of a number of Universities and a Fellow Member of several institutes, including the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK), Hong Kong Institute of Biomedical Science and Hong Kong Society for Molecular Diagnostic Sciences. He serves as the editor-in-chief, editor and associate editor of a number of international medical journals. Dr Cho is also an international renowned grant reviewer of the Hope Funds for Cancer Research (USA), Cancer Research (UK), MRC Research Grant (UK), Health Research Board (Ireland), Science Foundation (Ireland), Is tituto Toscano Tumori (Firenze), The Foundation Fournier-Majoie for Innovation (Brussels), National Medical Research Council (Singapore), The Medical Research Council (South Africa), and Academia Sinica Investigator Award (Taiwan).

Prof.dr. Gustaaf Schoukens was professor of polymer technology at the Ghent University (Belgium), faculty of Engineering, retired since October 1, 2014. He received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the K.U. Leuven (Belgium) in 1971 where he also obtained his Ph.D. in 1978. The subject of his Ph.D. research was �Non-linear viscoelastic behavior of dispersions�. Polymer technology in general and polymer processing, including synthetic and biopolymers, in particular are the main leads in his research program and of its publications. The main research topics are now the development of artificial turf for sport applications and the development of biopolymers based on chitin or chitosan with biomedical properties. A more recent research is the study of nanostructures, especially nanoparticles obtained by reaction engineering. These nanoparticles are already used in large quantities for the coating of paper and paperboards. I am an expert in the production of monofilaments for artificial sport applications and founded ERCAT (European Research Centre for Artificial Turf). I am also author of many articles about the production and properties of monofilaments and also about the characteristics of artificial turf fields and their interaction with the players on such fields.

Professor Francesca Aiello, graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Siena in 1998 and obtained her degree in Pharmacy from the University of Calabria in 1999. From 1999 to 2004 she received three scholarships and a two-year research grant (SSD CHIM 08 Pharmaceutical Chemistry) aimed at the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of pharmacologically active molecules. From October 2004 to August 2005, she carried out her research in the laboratory of Prof. Nouri Neamati at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Southern California, 1985 Zonal Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90089, USA. During this period, she had the opportunity to learn and apply modern computational technologies to the design of molecules of pharmaceutical interest as potential anticancer agents acting on important target proteins involved in DNA repair and protection. Some results have been published in major scientific journals. From 2006 to 2022, she was an assistant professor in Chem/07 A Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The scientific activity of Professor Francesca Aiello is demonstrated by 107 publications (articles and book chapters) with a total H-index of 25 (Scopus) with a total of 2,380 citations. The research activity covers many areas of medicinal chemistry (Chem07/A), thanks to numerous national and international collaborations, and can be related to the following research themes: Design, synthesis, chemical characterisation and biological evaluation of small molecules, mainly with antitumor, antibacterial and antiviral activity, as well as ligands (agonists and antagonists) of transient potential vanilloid receptors (TRPVs) and GPCRs, also of natural origin; Eco-sustainable extraction and green synthesis of molecules with high antioxidant power from natural sources and conjugation in polymeric matrices.

Paulo C. de Morais, PhD, is an Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB), Brazil, and has held numerous distinguished positions globally, including Guest and Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, and Distinguished Professor at Anhui University, China. He is a CNPq-1A Research Fellow and has been recognized with awards like the Un B Master Research Prize (2007) and Chinas 1000 Foreign Expert Award (2012). With a doctoral degree in Solid State Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and postdoctoral experience at Bell Communications Research, USA, Professor Morais has over 40 years of research experience in nanomaterials. He has authored over 500 peer-reviewed papers with more than 13,000 citations and holds 16 patents. His work focuses on the preparation, characterization, and applications of nano sized materials. A senior member of IEEE and a frequent invited speaker, he has contributed extensively to the scientific community, serving on the editorial boards of over 15 journals and as a referee for more than 50 technical journals. Professor Morais is regularly listed among the top scientists globally.

Dr. Anh Nguyen is a healthcare scientist from Vietnam with diverse experiences in the healthcare field, especially in the application of chemistry, biochemistry in pharmaceutical medicine and clinical treatment. After graduating medical school and becoming an MD, Dr. Anh Nguyen found a big interest in healthcare research fields . She holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the State University of Paraíba (2001), a master's degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Campina Grande (2004) and a PhD in Agronomy from the Federal University of Paraíba/Université D'Avignon (2011). She has experience in Chemistry, with an emphasis on food and bioactive compounds, working mainly on the following topics: product development, plant-based, quality, composition, conservation and post-harvest physiology of plant products, biodegradable packaging and coatings for food. She coordinates several extension projects related to food safety, family farming, and support for micro and small businesses in the agri-food sector. She is currently a member of the Ceará Academy of Sciences and works as an associate professor in the Food Engineering course at the Federal University of Ceará, in the city of Fortaleza. She holds the position of Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Food Science and Technology / UFC. She teaches the subjects of Raw Materials of Plant Origin and Food Packaging in the undergraduate course. In her postgraduate studies, she teaches the subject of Juice and Beverage Processing. She is the author of thirteen patent applications, including two patent letters and another technology transfer followed by licensing.

I received my B.Sc. degree from Istanbul Fatih University, Department of Biology in 2014. In 2018, I started my M.Sc. studies at Kastamonu University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, and Branch of Microbiology. Later, I completed my M.Sc. degree in 2019. After that, I started my Ph.D. studies at Kastamonu University in 2019, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, and Branch of Microbiology. At present, I completed my Ph.D. in June 2024. My research interests are microbiology, antibiotic resistance, and efflux pump mechanism. I have got several publications and many academic activities in my research interests. So far, I have taught (as a student assistant) courses in microbiology laboratory undergraduate level. Also I worked part-time at Kastamonu University Central Research Laboratory.
